In real life...

...I spent several years in the City of London as an architect for one of the world's major exchanges, designing and implementing the host trading system as well as creating novel algorithms to support implied trading, synthetics and exotic derivatives.

In 2006 I joined a leading Hedge Fund to develop and implement a complete overhaul of all their trading and IT systems, together with a complete infrastructure refresh, new DR/BC planning and the design and build of a new Hong Kong office.

Subsequent to that, I headed up both software development & infrastructure for one of the world's largest providers of inter-bank FX settlements and FX trading systems.

When that company was acquired by a much larger competitor, I moved to the UAE and headed up the technology functions at an extraordinary financial and philanthopic group based in Dubai.

My job in Dubai being complete, I left that role at the end of March 2019 and am currently running a number of projects back in the UK, mostly around ultra-low-power distributed IoT and environmental monitoring.

However, I'm still available for interesting roles anywhere in the world! Interim or full time, I'm always keen to experience new regions, new cultures and to face new challenges!

I have specialised in mission critical systems for over 20 years and have designed some of the largest market making and FX systems in London and elsewhere. My financial services work has focussed on technology, strategy development, change management and a broad range of instruments including commodities, derivatives, equities, credit & FX.
